Egregious Egocentric Ejaculations
Why does someone do this? Why go to all this work, gather all of these writings, do all this typing, copying, folding, running all over the city, begging people to let me set several copies of the VOiCE in their store, begging writers to let me put some of their most personal thoughts and feelings out on public display for the masses (that would be you) to ridicule, destroy, use as spitball ammo, or to wipe off certain parts of your anatomy (sharing alert).
For me it was this multiple thought explosion that struck me, "I want to get published in something people read." Then that good 'ol American motto engine kicked in, "If you want something done right, do it yer'self." Milliseconds later the name came, (droning choral monotone chanting ensues) "VOiCE". At first it was just this notion, but soon after I was excited. I talked to some of my friends about it. Some even had experience doing something like this, a little tip here, a little suggestion there, and off I went.
So more than anything, the VOICE is just sort of something that just happened in my mind. I wanted to bring the writers and the creators together, and I wanted to bring them to you. They're happy because they're being read, you're happy because you get to read something that's not prefabricated, regurgitated, FCC approved, commerical, brain-waste material. If you're not happy, you'll probably sue me in the name of protecting your children from obscene material. The ironic thing is, we are your children. We are you. We are your parents. We are your fucked dysfunctional family spewed across the whites of these pages, across the neigborhoods of your cities.
(Boy, do I hope they haven't vetoed that freedom of the press clause in the Constitution, yet. I could be in big trouble.)
